We are recognizing second quarter dolphins of the quarter who showed extra Kuleana Laulima and Hoihi.
Dolphin of the Second Quarter is-----Kyaaliyah Phillips
Kyaaliyah is very well-liked by her peers. She is respectful, responsible, and a great listener! Kyaaliyah is always willing to help her peers when they are in need of help, she is also an amazing artist. Kyaaliyah is a PreK Rockstar!!!
Treydan Ayau shows all of our three values on a daily basis as he always strives to do his best in all subject areas, follows directions well and is respectful to everyone. Thank you Treydan for being a great student model for your peers. We are so proud of you!
Ms. Kini’s dolphin of the Quarter is Lautalatoa Levi. He’s a quiet lad and shows KLH in and outside the classroom setting. He reads at 1st grade level and I am very proud of his improvements.
Kumu La`e’s dolphin of the quarter is Ms. Kaishalei Abafo. We've selected her as Dolphin of the quarter because she shows Kuleana, Ho'ihi and Laulima. She also consistently strives to be a self directed learner in asking clarifying questions to help her succeed in the work that she is doing. She is a quality producer and takes pride in the work that she completes. She is such a joy to have in class and her contribution to this class is appreciated! Keep working hard Kaishalei!! You are amazing!
Mrs. Sakamoto's dolphin of the quarter is Cadence Thompson. Cadence has a very positive attitude towards learning and is always trying her best. She shows Kulena by being ready to work and focuses while working. Cadence participates well in class and asks questions when she doesn't understand something showing laulima. Cadence shows hoihi by listening to the speaker and following directions. Great job Cadence and keep up the good work!
Dolphin of the Quarter for Mrs. Bicoy’s class is MARINI LOO. Marini comes to school every day excited and ready to learn. She is really good at setting goals for herself and working hard to meet them. As a result, she has shown great improvement in all subjects, but especially her reading. She is always on task and is a great role model for her peers. We are so proud of her and all her achievements. Awesome job Marini!
Haylee Jean Tokoro-Hanaoka is Mrs. Busby's student of the 2nd Quarter!
Kuleana: Haylee has been consistently working on Moby Max at home for extra practice to strengthen her understanding of math concepts. Her attendance is excellent, and she also turns in all her work on time!
Laulima: Haylee is a team player who always cooperates with teachers and fellow classmates by using active listening and by participating in a positive way. She uses encouraging words to uplift others.
Ho'ihi: Haylee respects herself, our school, and everyone. She follows instructions the first time given, and accepts responsibility for her own mistakes. Haylee - You shine bright in the second grade, and the 2B Crew is proud of you!

Aria Fukuoka was chosen for her commitment to academics and always doing her best! Aria consistently listens, follows directions, asks questions as needed, and works hard to finish tasks. She is eager to help classmates as needed, and ready to move on when finished. Her kindness throughout the day is an example for all. Thank you Aria for your amazing help in moving our class forward! Congratulations on being our “Ms Madani’s 3rd Grade Dolphin of the Quarter”!
Naleiaulii Kaai demonstrates KLH in the classroom and around campus. She comes to school prepared and keeps her materials neat and organized. Nalei actively participates in collaborative groups by contributing to group conversations, listening to her classmates ideas, and encouraging others with kind words. In class, Nalei works hard to reach her goals and is asks clarifying questions to see how she can improve her work. Congratulations, Nalei! Keep up the great work!
Teana Kaholoaa is Mrs. Gonzalez’s dolphin of the quarter because she produces quality work and is helpful to her peers. She shows Kuleana by completing her class assignments and homework on time. Teana shows Laulima by helping her classmates to stay on task with reminders. She shows Ho'ihi by listening and following directions the first time it is given. Great job Teana!
The Dolphin of the Quarter in Kumu Rawlins’s class is Lawakua Burrows. Lawakua shows KLH daily and is kind to his peers. He excels in all subjects in the classroom and shows quality work. Lawakua is very independent and very respectful of others. He is quick to lend a helping hand to teachers and classmates. Some of his favorites are Math, color purple, and at times reading. Good job Lawakua! Keep up the good work!
Mr. G’s Dolphin of the Quarter is Ava Jamy Makaiwi. Ava is super helpful, dependable, and trustworthy. She gets all her work done, gets along with others, and works hard. Ava always participates in class and is a thoughtful student who is concerned about her classmates’ well-being. Keep it up, Ava!
Congratulations to Kaialana-Welina Lester for being Mrs. Yuen's Dolphin of the Quarter. Kaialana has demonstrated tremendous growth in 5th grade. She shows enthusiasm for classroom activities and offers her ideas during a discussion. Kaialana perseveres when faced with difficult tasks by asking questions and trying her very best. She is able to work independently and also works well with others in small groups or partnerships. Kaialana consistently follows K.L.H. in and outside the classroom. Keep up the fantastic work, Kaialana!
Kaiminaauao Dudoit is a very patient and thoughtful student who has a confident attitude towards learning and always does her best work. She is creative, a great dancer, into technology, very artistic and open minded. Kaimi writes well and is able to express herself in stories, poems and essays. Most importantly, Kaimi looks out for her classmates and helps them with math and writing assignments. Kaimi, thank you for all you do at Kaunakakai School, you are a true leader!

Kumu Mahina’s Dolphin of the Quarter is Jaslyn “Lehua” Keanini. Lehua excels in her academics, and she’s helpful to other students and Kumu. She’s coming into her own and is more vocal now. Lehua is on the right path; taking direction and showing leadership skills. Keep up the good work!
All right we wanted to congratulate all of our dolphins of the quarter. keep it up and we are going to try the alma mater. [Principal singing KES alma mater].
